Influences:
Alberto has shown me a different perspective of nature. His work taught me that taking macro photos and landscapes can really show off a lot of emotion. His work inspired me to experiment with the background of the images that I take. Alberto’s work has made me more interested in macro photography. I also now understand that being really close to a small being can create a masterpiece if it is done with patience.

Compare & Contrast:
The color of the flowers is the about same in the background of both photos - both the flowers are pink. The type of flowers in the photos differs. I have less water droplets on my stem than Alberto does on his. It was a bit challenging to keep the water droplets on the stem, because they would fall off, and I had to apply them again.

Compare & Contrast:
Both of these photos contain a macro of dandelion seeds. Alberto's have a lot more water on them than mine do and his photo is a lot closer to the subject, but that's because he uses better lenses. I used an extension tube to take my photos. His dandelion seeds also have a lot more water on them, perhaps he has a special technique to apply the water (or another substance) to them. Applying the water and making it stay on the dandelion seeds was a constant problem when I was trying to take photos of them.

Compare & Contrast:
The background in these photos is similar, and there are visible droplets on both. Alberto's photo is a lot closer to the subject than mine, because as I said earlier he uses better lenses and more professional technology to take his photos. His droplets are more outlined than mine. I could not really make the droplets stay on the ends of the spikelet, because they kept on falling off of the spikelet, and I had to apply more.

Personal Artist Statement:
I really enjoyed doing this project. At first, it took me a while before I finally decided what photos to recreate, because Alberto has so many wonderful photographs. Now, I understand a lot more about macro photography than I ever have before. It takes a lot of patience to make the desired macro shot, and any photograph in that case. The more practice I get with taking such photos, the better I will get at taking them. I will use everything I learned and apply that knowledge to my hobby and I will continue to take photos with every chance that I get.
